Our StoryCross Product Design was born in a humble basement in Buffalo, NY with the purpose of making product development flexible and accessible. Experience in mechanical engineering, 3D printing, and product development 'behind closed doors' spawned a desire to enable more people and solve more problems. Now, we strive to create simple, functional, thoughtfully engineered products. We put emphasis on clear, effective communication so that your dynamic requirements are always met. Our small size allows us to give personal attention to each client throughout the design, prototyping, and manufacturing process whether they are creating a single iteration or a series or prototypes and preparing for mass production.

Our HardwareOur open-source hardware is not only a showcase of our in-house capabilities, but also a channel through which we can promote continuous development of accessible technology. Over the last few years, grassroots tinkering and engineering has grown immensely, namely in the hobbyist 3D printing space. By sharing our own designs and working with other talented engineers, we hope to push the bounds of what users can design and produce with minimal experience and budget.

Our Commitment to SustainabilityCross Product Design is committed to minimizing material and energy waste. We accomplish this through several strategies, one example of which is partial prototypes. With a partial prototype, we only manufacture the sections of your product that are most relevant in the current iteration. If the primary concern is fitment with another part, then only the interface with that part will be 3D printed. This leads to lower material usage, which means lower cost and faster iterations for our clients. Contact us to learn more about our sustainability practices.
